Pakistani Politicians | Data Visualization
This was a data visualization project that I did in my second year at my undergraduate institution. The assignment prompt was to redesign the map of Pakistan using a theme of choice. I chose to represent the map of Pakistan using the different political entities present in the country. Where different political parties are dominant in different parts of the country.
The characters represent the different party leaders present in the political structure of Pakistan. The use of pixel art was a conscious decision. In my opinion, it perfectly depicted the restricted ideologies of the political leaders of Pakistan.
This project was the first time I had dabbled in pixel art. This is where I started to gain more interest in illustration.
Thinking back to this project I believe that it had a very limited target audience. Only people who are familiar with the political situation in Pakistan would deeply understand the map.
